It is with true joy we welcome you to Kazoku Isan Dojo! 

We are delighted that you are considering joining us as a new student. This page provides information that will help prepare you to get started as a new Karate-Ka (Karate practitioner). 

I want to personally  thank you for giving us this opportunity serve as your guide in your martial arts journey. Our mission is to share with our students what has changed our lives through the study of karate: Self-confidence, respect, camaraderie, discipline, appreciation, and to be generous.  

The name of Kazoku Isan is meaningful to us.

Always remember,  you get out of karate what you put into karate. We promise to hold nothing back and teach all that we know and show you the path. It will be up to you to walk down the path.

The following list will provide a glimpse of what to expect as you embark on your karate journey with us at Kazoku Isan Dojo.

• At Kazoku Isan Dojo we believe in training everyone to be a black belt instructor the moment they start their journey.  This means all students will participate in kumite (sparring), weapons, self defense, basics, and more!

• All students are able to attend 2 classes per week.  The classes are 45 minutes for little bonsai and youth.  Adult classes are 1 hour.

• At the bottom of this page you will find the class sign up links to start your monthly payment plan, all payments will be processed automatically on the same day of each month starting the day you sign up. Little Bonsai and Youth are $120 per month and Adults are $130 per month.  We also offer a 1 year paid in full discounted tuition.

• While filling out the information on the enrollment form, please fill it out with the student’s information and don’t forget to include a photo.  While filling in the credit card information billing please use your information, your credit card information is securely stored in our system and can also be used for any other purchases at our dojo.  At the end of the form there will be 3 forms to sign, please sign each electronically.

• After this is completed you will receive an email from us to sign up for our student portal, the email will come from either Martialytics or Kazoku Isan Dojo.  When you sign up you will then be prompted to download the Student app.

• In the student app you will find many helpful tools to assist you along your journey!  
  • Click on the book icon to sign up for classes or personal training!  You can sign up for classes weeks or minutes in advance!
  • The study icon is where you will find all of our study material to help our students succeed!  This is also where you will find our student handbooks.
  • When you scroll to the bottom of the homescreen you will find all of our news articles.  We post our monthly newsletter, schedule, and more in this section!
  • The message button allows you to communicate with us on non urgent matters via text.  If there is ever anything that you believe need to be addressed quickly please call or text us at (513) 472-6365
  • The profile section of Martialytics will allow you to view your monthly plan as well as update personal details or payment information.  If you have more than one student enrolled this is also where you would toggle between students.

All students practice sparring, self defense, weapons, kata, basics, etc.

We do require various types of gear that can vary as we change curriculum quarterly.  There is also other gear that is available for purchase that is not required.  Prices on gear are subject to change.  Please see the list of required gear below.  We also charge a testing fee of $40 for green and brown belt testing.  The testing fee for black belt is $100.
